Casemiro, a Brazilian midfielder, claims that Lionel Messi’s accomplishments with Barcelona and the Argentina team have ushered in a new era of football.
Casemiro claimed that he was unable to watch Pele or Diego Armando Maradona play live in an interview that aired on the Albiceleste Talk channel on July 10. The Man Utd midfielder emphasized that Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar were the three greatest players of his generation.

The former Real Madrid midfielder responded to a question about Messi by saying: “Messi has created an era with Barca and Argentina. Messi is adored by football fans. I’ve competed against him a lot, so I feel honored. We all adore Messi, so there isn’t much to say about him.
Before moving to Man Utd in the summer of 2022 in search of a new challenge, Casemiro is one of a select group of players who have won a record five Champions League championships, all while playing for Real Madrid. In El Clasico or Brazil vs. Argentina games, he frequently faced Messi because he was a defensive midfielder. Messi and Casemiro have faced each other in 20 games; they have combined for eight wins, four ties, and eight losses. Nine goals were scored by Messi in these games.
Brazil’s captain is Casemiro, while Argentina’s captain is Messi. As a result, these two athletes can continue to compete against one another in the 2024 Copa America or the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. These two players are challenging to compete against at the club level now that Messi has transferred to Inter Miami in the US.
Casemiro added that he stopped watching football for a month after Brazil were eliminated by Croatia in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals. However, he continued to text his Man Utd teammate Lisandro Martinez after Argentina won the championship. Martinez is the one who deserves my wishes, Casemiro said.
During his 18 years at the top of his game, Messi won 42 championships. Except for the French Cup, England won almost every title that could be won. The 36-year-old superstar added that he no longer has any aspirations, but he will likely defend Argentina’s Copa America title with that nation next year.
