Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson, who lives in Atlanta, has put his Woodland Hills, California, compound on the market for just under $2.9 million. This is more than double the $1.385 million he paid for it when it was built 11 years ago. The house is a tan Mediterranean-style home that almost no one passing by would notice or look at twice.
Online sources say that since the late 1990s, the singer of “Sweet Lady” and “How You Gonna Act Like That” has put out six albums and sold 3.7 million copies. In five “Fast and Furious” movies and three “Transformers” movies, he did better. He will be in “Morbius,” a spinoff of “Spider-Man,” with Jared Leto. He will also be in two more “Fast & Furious” movies. He is switching from singing to acting.
Gibson’s almost half-acre property was first seen on Zillow Gone Wild and is for sale through “Selling Sunset” star Jason Oppenheim of The Oppenheim Group. It has four buildings, including the main house, which has five bedroom suites, including a master suite with two walk-in closets and a terrace, and 5.5 bathrooms.
Even though the huge double-height entrance and living room with its even grander curved staircase and curlicued wrought-iron railings is extravagant, most of the main house is a normal, upmarket suburban house that can easily fit a large family.
The large living area contains a baby grand piano, white slipcovered furniture, and a black fireplace.
The home theater contains brown microsuede chairs and a huge, high-end kitchen that extends to a dining area and family room.
Most bathrooms, including the master, have medium-brown wood cabinetry and beige tiles. The house’s back is another carnival.
A large yellow Transformer governs a fire pit with a circular built-in bench and patriotic red, white, and blue cushions. (Gibson’s Atlanta mansion has a similar monument.)
An Asian-style poolside pavilion has an outdoor kitchen, built-in grilling station and bar with cherry-red worktops, a half-bath, and a full Benihana-style Teppanyaki set-up hidden behind shoji screens.
