Mercedes Playfully Suggests New Helmet Design for Lewis Hamilton Following His Toad Costume
As the Formula 1 season gears up for the Qatar Grand Prix at the revamped Lusail International Circuit, Mercedes has lightheartedly proposed a unique helmet design for Lewis Hamilton, inspired by his recent portrayal of the Mario Kart character ‘Toad.’
During the last race in Japan, Hamilton donned an eye-catching light-up helmet design while securing a P5 finish. However, it was his off-track escapades as Toad that sparked Mercedes’ creative idea for his upcoming helmet design.
Lewis Hamilton’s portrayal of Toad was impeccably executed, making it an opportunity too good to pass up for Mercedes. The team’s design department enthusiastically took on the challenge, envisioning a Hamilton helmet design that would surely earn Toad’s approval.
The Lusail International Circuit in Qatar holds fond memories for Hamilton, as he clinched victory in its inaugural event in 2021. While the circuit remains largely unchanged, Hamilton faces a daunting task to maintain his perfect win record at the venue.
Meanwhile, Red Bull’s dominant driver, Max Verstappen, is on the brink of becoming a three-time World Champion. A top-six finish in the Qatar sprint race will seal the deal for Verstappen, putting Mercedes’ focus on securing second place in the Constructors’ Championship ahead of Ferrari. After the Suzuka race, Ferrari has narrowed Mercedes’ lead to just 20 points in the Constructors’ Championship standings.
