Tuesday night, a grieving Selena Gomez took the stage once again like a genuine artist to give her fans the performance they had been waiting for.
Selena broke down as she made her final on-stage appearance on Sunday in Miami, Florida, after losing her close friend and fellow The Voice participant Christina Grimmie five days before.
In spite of this, the 21-year-old was maintaining a brave front for her devoted fan base, who had come to watch her perform at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The last time Selena was on stage, she used her performance to pay tribute to Christina who tragically lost her life at an Orlando gig last week.
The former The Voice contestant was shot in the head by a gunman who opened fire during a meet and greet with the 22-year-old singer and later died of her injuries.
Selena has known the popstar and her family since she was 14 when the former Disney actress signed her.
Selena’s stepfather Brian Teefey was also Christina’s manager and Christina opened for Selena’s We Own the Night tour in 2011.
She decided to pay tribute, performing Hillsong Worship’s Transfiguration in her honour after describing how upset she was on Twitter.
