On Friday morning, some Chiefs fans woke up feeling disheartened by a loss, but one fan woke up thinking of themselves as a winner.
KSHB 41 spoke with Jaxson Kress, age 8, on Red Wednesday at Ronald McDonald House, when he met Chris Jones. Jaxson Kress also met Chris Jones.
On the other hand, Jaxson had the opportunity to meet Patrick Mahomes, his hero, on Thursday, which was game day, as shown in a video that is gaining traction on social media.
“They pushed us right out into the field, and that’s when Pat came out,” recalled Jeff Hedin, Jaxson’s dad. “And then Mahomes came up and said, ‘This is for you, uddy.'” “And then Mahomes came up and said”
When Hedin makes this comment, he is alluding to a foot-all that the MVP gave to the young fan.
“I was stunned,” Jaxson said, adding that at first he believed it to be a prank. “I was stunned.” It’s a big deal that I got to meet Patrick Mahomes.
Hedin is at a loss for words to adequately describe the night.
“I was floating,” he recalled. “It was amazing.” “Jaxson and I had just arrived at our destination; we were on cloud nine.”
Every time they travel to Kansas City for Jaxson’s chemotherapy, the father and son make their accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House. He has been struggling with leukemia for the past five years.
They were under the impression that they were only going to the game after the organization gave them tickets. They had no concept that they would be on the pitch mingling with famous Chiefs players from both the past and the present at any point in time.
Hedin referred to them as “Mike Bell, Christian Okoye, and ig hugs.” These gentlemen have very big hearts.
Additionally, Dante Hall. Jaxson performed the “X Factor” move to the best of his ability, as taught to him by the previous player.
“They all wanted to take their pictures with him, and Jaxson felt like he was part of the team,” Hedin said. “They all wanted to take their pictures with him.”
Additionally, Jaxson made his mark by distributing wristbands engraved with motivational sayings. One of them was given to Chris Jones with the inscription “Know Your Worth,” and the other was given to the Most Valuable Player with the inscription “Walk by Faith, Not by Sight.”
“I wanted him to remember me, and I wanted him to have a wristband that I gave him,” Jaxson explained. “I wanted him to have a wristband that I gave him.”
Hedin stated that he has a lengthy list of people and organizations to thank, including the Chiefs organization, the Hunt family, and all of the players, but the Ronald McDonald House is at the top of his list.
Hedin referred to the achievement as a “home run” and a “slam dunk” in his response. “I tell them that they hit this out of the park because it’s truly great that they were able to make a little boy’s wish come true,” I said.
These are the kinds of recollections that the two will cling on to very firmly.
“For a lifetime,” Hedin remarked as he pointed to the heart of his son. “For a lifetime.” “You put it right there, and store it in your heart.”
And the score will have absolutely nothing to do with those recollections.
“He’s my little brother,” Hedin remarked.
