In the most recent episode of his SiriusXM podcast, Tom Brady talked candidly about striking a balance between his football career and family.
The ‘Let’s Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray’ podcast guest panelist Dan Patrick, 65, questioned the 44-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion on how he balances his desire for greatness on the gridiron and being present at home.
Dan, a longtime sportscaster, said that his wife’s admission that he would miss their growing children was a contributing factor in his decision to leave ESPN.Yes, the situation is the same here. In this residence, it is the same. Referring to his 41-year-old model wife Gisele Bündchen, “I think my wife has, you know, held down the house for a long time now,” Tom remarked.
Additionally, I believe she has goals in mind. She hasn’t worked as hard over the last ten or twelve years to raise our family and kind of commit to living in Boston before going to Florida,’ Tom continued. Tom was a six-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots before winning his seventh with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. However, that is a problem, and a very challenging problem to solve without just declaring that it is time to resign. “And I believe that we’re nearing the end here as well, so I don’t want to miss any of the kids’ stuff,” Tom stated. Tom and Gisele have a son, Benjamin, age 11, a daughter, Vivian, age 8, and a son, age 14, with their former partner, Bridget Moynahan, 50.
He also mentioned how the National Football League’s players have a long off-season.
However, I believe that many parents who work real jobs and lead real lives receive only two or three weeks of annual leave. In addition, I truly have a lot of vacation time. You guys most likely don’t get much time off when conducting your shows. We get a good, healthy off-season as football players. And I strive to give the kids my all,” Tom remarked.
Even though I wish I could have been there more, I believe that if I was there too often, people might become tired of me always messing up everything that has been going on in the house for a while. Thus, I’ve also heard the opposing viewpoint in that argument. Thus, I believe there are moments when it gets a bit teeter-totter, and like everyone else, I’m trying to do the best we can given the situation,’ Tom remarked.
Having been taken in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Tom was also asked if he had a fallback plan in case football wasn’t working out by guest panelist Jim Nantz, 62.
“I never intended to pursue any other goals.” I never got pregnant. I still don’t have a plan, and I never would,’ Tom remarked.
Gisele and Tom got hitched in February 2009.
