Daniel Ricciardo Returns to F1 Car for First Time Since Injury
Daniel Ricciardo has made his return to an F1 car for the first time since breaking his hand at the Dutch Grand Prix. The Australian driver took the wheel of a Red Bull RB7 for a demonstration run in Nashville ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
Ricciardo’s absence from racing followed a crash in Free Practice 2 at Zandvoort in late August, during which he broke his left hand and subsequently underwent surgery. This injury led to Liam Lawson filling his seat at Scuderia AlphaTauri in his absence.
Now, with his return to an F1 car in Nashville, it is a positive sign that Ricciardo is ready to make a full return to competition. The demonstration run in Nashville was planned as part of his role as Red Bull’s third driver, a position he took at the beginning of the year. Other promotional outings, including one at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, were initially planned but postponed due to Ricciardo’s injury.
Following the injury, Nyck de Vries took his place at Scuderia AlphaTauri alongside Yuki Tsunoda. However, Ricciardo was eventually reinstated as the race driver for the team and made his return at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
With his return to the United States Grand Prix, fans of Daniel Ricciardo and F1 can look forward to seeing the popular Australian driver back on the track, ready to compete.
