Following their humiliating Week 5 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Cowboys faced a usual barrage of media rumors. The Cowboys’ chances of winning a Super Bowl this year were discussed, along with concerns about the defense Parsons helps coach and the general consensus that the team made the proper choice in selecting Prescott as their quarterback.
It wasn’t the first week in Parsons’ career that he has ignored social media bluster and media personalities, and it certainly won’t be the last. On his Bleacher Report show “The Edge” on Tuesday afternoon, Parsons chose to address some of the criticism he had heard about Dallas following their comeback victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Parsons stated on Bleacher Report’s The Edge on Tuesday afternoon, “I’m just calling out the B.S. because I’m tired of people trashing our quarterback.” I didn’t have anything to say to the media this week because I’m sick and tired of people disparaging my team. Come to The Edge if you want to hear me speak.
For the past few seasons, Prescott has been at the focus of a mostly media-driven discussion concerning his potential to be a Super Bowl-caliber franchise quarterback for the Cowboys. In Parsons’ opinion, Prescott is the ideal candidate for the position, as suggested by his remarks.
After defeating the Chargers 20–17, Dallas improved to 4–2 going into their bye week. In the victory, Prescott completed 21 of 30 pass attempts for 272 yards and two scores.
