Don’t we all need second chances? Certainly! Kestrel, Bassan & Benedetti Studio’s 262-foot converted explorer design exhibited at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, is stylish. This McFarlane ShipDesign collaboration was motivated by “form follows function”. The 1C ice-class hull, equipment, and engineering remain. However, the interiors have been completely redesigned, allowing many personalization options.
“Conversions are in demand because they save money and time over new builds. A studio representative told Boat International that supply vessels are plentiful. The saying ‘money saved equals money earned’ has changed. Every billionaire wants to save time because time equals money. This emotion boosts the conversion superyacht concept, which can accommodate 12 guests in six big main deck bedrooms with a 25-person crew. Private terraces, an elevated living room, an observation lounge, and an owner’s suite are on the upper deck.
The industrial-modern yacht has a 100-square-meter wellness section with a gym, spa, theater, and 125-square-meter toy hangar for Jetskis, diving gear, and a submersible.
Kestrel also includes an 18-foot pool, outdoor cinema, certified helideck, and scenic dining places. Performance always matters. The Kestrel cruises at 16 knots and tops out at 18.
