The Maserati MC12 Versione Corse, limited to 12 units worldwide, is being auctioned as a surprise because the car’s owner has never driven it.
Rare supercars tend to fetch good prices at auctions. Low odo classic racing cars also tend to sell for big bucks. That’s what makes many people wonder how much this extremely rare Maserati MC12 Versione Corse racing supercar can be sold for. This car has only run 129 miles, equivalent to 207 km.
According to Maserati, MC12 Corse is a product that is still sought after by many players. After successfully using the Ferrari Enzo chassis as the basis for the road-going MC12, the brand has upgraded with the MC12 GT1. Unlike the street-legal car, which has 621 horsepower from its mid-mounted V12 engine, the GT1 has 744 horsepower.
In fact, the Maserati MC12 GT1 is the only racing car to ever use the same engine as the Ferrari Enzo and it was a huge success.
It later shared that engine with the MC12 Versione Corse which was intended only for this track. This auction-ready car is one of only 12 ever built. According to the Italian car company, the supercar can accelerate from 0-200 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. It can do that partly thanks to its total weight of just 1,133 kg.
The exterior of the MC12 Versione Corse is finished in Blue (also known as Blue Victory). The cabin focuses more on lap times than comfort. Carbon fiber racing seats, a multi-function racing steering wheel and five-point seat belts help drive the car home. Alcantara material is used throughout the cabin, especially the car also has electric windows.
