Selena Gomez responded to a TikTok video earlier Saturday, claiming she was ‘always slim’ during her previous engagement with Justin Bieber.
The Only Murders In The Building actress, 30, merely responded with a sad face emoji to the tape, which featured several photographs of her looking’skinny’ supposedly during the years she was dating the Peaches hitmaker.
The video, which was posted last month on November 29, has received 3.7 million views, with the singer’s comment receiving nearly 40k likes. ‘He rathers models,’ the caption added, with the artist referring to Selena as’my poor baby.’
The slideshow video featured a collection of photographs taken of the Wolves singer in the past, as well as a screenshot of a statement the star supposedly made to a fan who indicated that Justin had’messed up’ but still supported ‘Jelena.’
‘No love,’ Selena wrote, according to the screenshot. He’s more of a model. I’m just too ordinary.’
The TikTok developer responded to Selena’s simple message with ‘YOU DID NOT,’ followed by two sobbing face emojis.
Other social media users also filled the comment area, speculating on what the sad face emoji genuinely signified, with some claiming she was expressing her dissatisfaction and anguish over her body being criticized.
‘She was always thin, she simply gained a bit of weight lately, but she’s still lovely,’ one fan said. You’re reaching.’
Others brought up her Lupus diagnosis in 2015, which forced her to take treatment for the disease and receive a kidney transplant in 2017. The actress has also spoken out about her medication-induced weight gain and decrease.
In April of this year, Selena posted a TikTok video blasting people who made critical comments about her weight, according to Entertainment Tonight.
‘I’m trying to keep slender, but I went to Jack in the Box and bought four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich,’ she says in the video.
‘But honestly, I don’t care about my weight since people b***h about it anyhow,’ the former Disney Channel star continued. You’re too little. You’re far too huge. That is not correct. ‘Meh, meh, meh.’
‘B***h, I am perfect the way I am,’ she said boldly at the end of her clip. What is the moral of the story? Bye.’
During an appearance on the Giving Back Generation podcast in 2019, the actress discussed her battle with lupus and how it has affected her health.
