Rafael Nadal, the current French Open champion, provided a tour of his 24-meter superyacht named “Great White.”
Rafael Nadal is a well-known name in singles tennis, and he has also proven himself as a strong contender in doubles matches.
Rafael Nadal’s 80 Sunreef Power catamaran, named Great White, measures 23.95 meters in length and offers 360 square meters of living space. The yacht features a flybridge with a bar and a barbecue, an elegant interior with cream and coffee color tones, and a stern garage for a jet ski.
As a child, Rafael Nadal would often race around his native island of Mallorca in a Riviera power boat owned by his father, sparking his early interest in boats. In the early stages of his personal yachting journey, he began with a Princess V62. Then, in 2017, he made an upgrade to a Monte Carlo Yachts MCY 76.
During intense competitions, Rafael Nadal would sometimes return home for short breaks to unwind by snorkeling or experiencing tranquil evenings on board his yacht. His understanding of the advantages offered by catamarans with their two hulls became more evident after he chartered a Sunreef 74 sailing catamaran.
Rafael Nadal fondly reminisced about his experiences during a Bahamas trip, highlighting the fantastic crew and incredible destinations they explored. He mentioned that the seven days spent with his family aboard the catamaran were among the most unforgettable moments of his life. The vast amount of space and comfort on the catamaran played a significant role in his decision to acquire one from Sunreef.
Rafael Nadal emphasized the significance of space in his decision to own a catamaran. He explained that he had previously owned monohull yachts and was captivated by the substantial space offered by catamarans. The 80 Sunreef Power is the largest yacht that can conveniently dock in the small harbor near his residence in Porto Cristo, Mallorca, where he lives, right in front of the restaurant. This proximity made it a convenient choice for him.
Rafael Nadal highlighted that the vast amount of space on his catamaran is unparalleled by any monohull vessel up to 30 meters in length. This was the primary motivation behind his switch from a monohull to a multihull yacht.
