Dak Prescott comes into Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field with an 8-3 lifetime record versus the Cowboys’ divisional rivals.
Prescott has defeated Philadelphia’s emerging quarterback Jalen Hurts in their only clаsh of 11 matches. For both quarterbacks to return to the field healthy and ready for a big divisional game, Prescott is excited.
“Crаzy to think it’s only once,” Prescott added. “Very exciting. Clearly improves the game. We anticipate this matchup every year. They probably do too. It will be fantastic, plain and simple.”
Despite the pressure of playing in front of a hоstile road crowd, Prescott is able to draw on his college experience at Mississippi State in front of LSU and Alabama crowds.
“Having grown up in the SEC, a lot of different venues and stadiums that you can feel by the time you get near the stadium,” said Prescott. Football—eat, sleep, breathe. Fan excitement, atmosphere, close games, energy. Nothing changes when you enter Philadelphia’s stadium. It recalls Saturday nights.”
Crowd aside, the Eagles will play with the NFL’s best record (7-1) and weapons on both sides of the ball to trouble the Cowboys. The challenge ahead is tough after an NFC Championship and a solid start in 2023.
“They’re just as good as they were last year,” said he. Equally strong. This is a great team, but they’re not unbeaten like last year. After reaching the final, this club knows how to win. They know hard games. We know the situation and matchup.”
A lot can be gained from the Cowboys’ 2023 experience. In their last big road test, Dak Prescott’s squad lost 42-10 to the 49ers in San Francisco. Following that loss, the Cowboys haven’t lost again and can face another tough road test this weekend.
“I challenged myself to be better in many different ways, not just on the field but dаmn sure on the field and in my game,” stated Prescott. Like me, many me𝚗 in the locker room, building, coaches, and everyone challenged themselves. You didn’t blame this unit or that unit after the game. They didn’t plan properly, they didn’t prepare well, and everyone might learn from that.”
Thus, preparation for another NFC clаsh in Philadelphia has improved.
“Credit [teammates] for answering that, there’s been better preparation,” he stated. “The weekly process has been better and guys are really dialed into the process, enjoying the process each day, taking it in that manner to put ourselves in a good spot since.”
