Dwyane Wade received $22 million for the sale of his home in Miami Beach, which had a basketball court designed in the style of the Miami Heat.
.
Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, are active in real estate. They sold their Sherman Oaks mansion for $5.5 mιllιon in May after buying a 17,000-square-foot showplace in Hidden Hills for $17.9 mιllιon last year.
.
The $22-mιllιon deal is less than the $32.5 mιllιon he was asking for the beachfront home, but it’s more than double the $10.645 mιllιon he paid in 2010. The three-time NBA champion transformed the property into a 12,000-square-foot mansion with a wine cellar, movie theater, pool, cabana, and private dock.
.
The Mediterranean-style two-story villa features a long, covered entryway and lush courtyard and rustic interiors with vaulted ceilings and wooden floors. Both levels have bay-facing windows.
The mansion is equipped with six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a master suite that comes complete with a salon and a patio. The beachfront backyard features a winding stairway, as well as a playground and a basketball court painted in the colors of Wade’s former NBA team, the Miami Heat. Wade spent the most of his professional basketball career in Miami.
In Wade’s 39 years in the NBA, he has been selected to 13 different All-Star teams. He was a member of the Miami Heat team that won three NBA championships and the scoring title in 2009. He will officially retire in 2019, and he has already invested in the Utah Jazz.
