AlphaTauri Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda playfully mentioned that he had a moment of panic, saying, “I ‘sh** my pants’ when he briefly went off-track at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Yuki Tsunoda added two more points to AlphaTauri’s tally as they continued their pursuit of Williams for seventh place in the constructors’ championship. However, Tsunoda’s race wasn’t without its challenges. He encountered a setback during the first stint of the race when he went off at Turn 10, costing him valuable positions.
“Yeah that was a big mistake,” Tsunoda said. “So yeah it was a bit scary I actually, I shit my pants. Luckily I didn’t expect a DNF.”
Tsunoda believed that if it weren’t for the off-track excursion and some late technical issues, he had a chance to secure eighth place ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
“Yeah it was good,” Tsunoda reflected. “Unfortunate for Daniel at the end, his pace was really good. I think also he changed a bit of setup and I think we got good data, he was quite fast.
“So yeah, I think it was really good overall from the team. I struggled in the end with a reliability issue, but luckily we were able to bring the car home.
“I don’t know about Pierre, but Lewis quite [a] high chance.”
