November 13—Dak Prescott passed for four touchdowns and ran for another as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants 49-17 in Arlington, Texas.
Prescott completed 26 of 35 throws for 404 yards and was intercepted. He set a Dallas franchise record by throwing for 400 yards and four touchdowns three times.
Brandin Cooks had nine catches for 173 yards and a touchdown, while CeeDee Lamb shredded the Giants’ secondary. Lamb has 11 receptions for 151 yards and a TD.
Rico Dowdle led the Cowboys’ running offense with 79 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
New York quarterback Tommy DeVito went 14-for-27 for 86 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in his NFL debut. He was fired five times.
New York (2-8), outgained 640-172, failed to convert on all 12 third-down attempts and struggled to break through a stout Dallas defense. Saquon Barkley carried for 66 yards on 13 touches.
Lamb scored on a 14-yard reverse with 3:38 left in the first quarter, and Prescott helped the Cowboys (6-3) take the lead in the second.
After a 1-yard pass to Jake Ferguson, he found Cooks for a 10-yard TD to put it 21-0 with 3:48 left in the half. Prescott ran in a 10-yard touchdown with 16 seconds left before halftime.
With 8:07 left in the third quarter, DeVito completed a seven-play, 91-yard drive with a 10-yard TD pass to Lawrence Cager.
New York’s euphoria was short-lived when Prescott and Michael Gallup connected for a 41-yard touchdown on the next possession.
Prescott continued. With 1:29 left in the third, he found Lamb for a 12-yard score to lead 42-7.
Randy Bullock made it 42-10 with a 40-yard field goal for the Giants with 8:54 left in the game, and Dowdle answered with a 1-yard rushing TD.
Six seconds left, DeVito passed to Sterling Shepard for a 2-yard score.
