Vasco Lima Mayer: Muda’s House is a family vacation home for grandparents, parents, and grandchildren.
In the initial briefing, the clients offered an intriguing space organization. The grandparents wаnted the house built in three blocks: one with a bedroom and a tiny living area for them, and two with two bedrooms each for their children and grandchildren.
The living room, like a Portuguese house, is the hub where all areas come together, transparency rules, and light floods. Glass offers inside-outside access. The goal was to create a spacious, comfortable space for family memories.
This horizontally developed house with a chimney has a lovely and irreverent character due to traditional Portuguese architecture.
However, the charm of this property goes beyond the house and grounds. In Comporta, magic pours through rice fields, pine forests, and dunes to the sea of the unmatched Alentejo coast.
