The limited edition Audi R8 GT stands out with the Carbon Aerokit’s black body kit’s front splitter, side skirts, spoiler and rear diffuser. Inside, the interior is also black with red accents as a tribute to the original R8 GT.
The Audi R8 GT weighs only 1,569 kg, about 71 kg lighter than the standard rear-wheel drive R8. Audi said that to “lose weight” for the R8 GT, it used 20-inch racing-style wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. In addition, the bucket seats and front anti-roll bar are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic which also helps reduce vehicle weight.
Upgraded from a naturally aspirated 10-cylinder engine, the 5.2-liter V10 engine equipped for the R8 GT is up to 40 horsepower more powerful than the standard R8, reaching 602 horsepower. The engine is combined with a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that has been refined for faster gear change times. The V10 engine helps the R8 GT accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, from 0-200 km/h in 10.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h.
The Audi R8 GT will be produced in a quantity of only 333 cars and will begin being delivered to customers from 2023.
