At his home outside Sacramento, California, a young NBA star has constructed an outdoor sanctuary, but he’s ready to sell the impressive property.
Following his draft selection by the Sacramento Kings in 2018, Detroit Pistons forward Marvin Bagley III acquired the roughly two-acre property in the Elk Grove, California, suburb.
The $1,995,000 marketing price has drawn interest from potential purchasers quickly. As a pending sale, the property is already listed.
“We’re just waiting for the right one to come in,” says Matthew Hindy, listing agent at Re/Max Gold Fair Oaks, “we have multiple offers on it.”
In the 2018 NBA draft, the Kings took Duke’s 6’11” Bagley with the second overall pick. Following three and a half seasons in Sacramento, the Kings traded him to Detroit in February 2022.
Hindy has seen Bagley’s extensive modifications since selling the house to him five years ago.
According to Hindy, “it has an NBA-sized, full-court basketball court with bleachers and a scoreboard in the backyard in addition to a waterproof jumbotron.”
There’s a kitchen by the swimming pool and a television built into a tree in the outside cooking area. About $300,000 was spent, according to Hindy, on outside features and amenities.
Two residences are hidden behind three gates on the expansive, completely fenced property. The property is also designated for livestock.
Hindy states, “You can actually have livestock.” “You can have animals such as goats, horses, and dogs, so it’s like having a private oasis resort in your backyard.”
The 4,500 square foot main house has five bedrooms and a Mediterranean design.
Three more rooms include walk-in closets and en suite bathrooms, according to Hindy. “One of the rooms was converted into a theater with full blackout shades and reclining seats.”
The property has a smaller home that is around 2,300 square feet in size, with a kitchen, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large living area.
According to Hindy, it is perfect for “multi-generational families with in-laws who want to live with them.” “Or parents who want to live close to one another, but not in the same house,” yet have older children and grandchildren.
Included in the deal are even the large outdoor television and customizable scoreboard.
It’s very different, Hindy says. That never happens. It’s usually an outdoor television, but this one is about eight by ten feet. Any game can be played on a connected PlayStation or Xbox with full surround sound throughout the building.
Hindy says these kinds of developments are not frequent in the quiet area to the south of the city. This configuration is ideal for the consumer who likes to party at home.
He claims, “Unless you’re starving, there’s no reason to leave this property.” “Everything is there.”
