For the next two seasons at least, Lewis Hamilton will compete in Formula 1 races; but, the seven-time world champion is aware of what awaits him after he hangs up his helmet.
When Lewis Hamilton chooses to leave Formula 1, he will do what he wants to do.
After entering the race as a rookie in 2007, the seven-time World Champion is nearing the conclusion of his 17th season in Formula One.
Hamilton has amassed 103 victories, 104 pole places, and 197 podiums over what is statistically the most successful Formula One career in history.
In order to guarantee Hamilton stays with the team until at least the end of the 2025 season, Mercedes revealed earlier this year that it has signed him to a two-year contract extension.
Some have conjectured that Hamilton’s contract may be his last as an F1 driver since he will be 41 when it expires.
Hamilton’s plan
In addition to his on-track adventures, Hamilton is well-known for his forays into a variety of fields, including music and fashion. When he leaves Formula One, Hamilton said in an interview with Channel 4 that he would not stop working on his non-F1 initiatives.
“I have a lot going on,” he said. “Designing clothes, producing movies and documentaries.
“I have my non-alcoholic tequila, I have Neat Burger that I’m helping push and grow. I’ve got Plus 44, which I’m working on to improve.
“I’ve got a sportswear brand that I’m starting. I’ve mission 44, which has taken a lot of work.”
When asked how he manages all the projects, Hamilton added: “I have a huge team. So if there’s a point where I dropped the microphone, I’m good. But I’m going to hold on for a while [in F1]
“I still just love what I’m doing. And I feel great physically. It’s still a challenge, I still feel I’m able to give as good as I get.”
