Unsurprisingly, seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has an excellent private collection of automobiles.
Lewis Hamilton’s day job may include him driving the world’s fastest gear around a racing circuit, but when he gets home, the British driver has access to some of the most beautiful road vehicles in the world.
Hamilton has an outstanding collection of supercars and hypercars in his private collection, which is believed to be worth £13 million!
However, Hamilton has been outspoken in recent years about the fact that his private collection of vehicles is seldom utilized – Hamilton has been more climate-conscious over his career and has decided to only drive the petrol-powered behemoths in his garage on a selective basis.
Hamilton’s private collection, on the other hand, lies quietly in his garages in Monaco and Los Angeles, with a modest but remarkable and diverse collection of well managed gear.
Let’s take a look at the automobiles Hamilton is known to possess or have owned in the past.
760 LH Pagani Zonda
Those with keen eyes may have seen the ‘LH’ denouement after the model name. And you’d be right: it’s not a coincidence.
Hamilton possessed a £1.6 million Pagani Zonda that was custom-built for the World Champion before selling it in 2021.
Pagani produced five special-edition Zonda 760s as special orders, with Hamilton being one of them. One of the remaining five, the 760 ‘Viola,’ is currently owned by Hamilton’s old buddy Adrian Sutil and is based in Monaco.
The automobile can go from 0 to 100 km/h in three and a half seconds and has a manual transmission, which Hamilton requested.
“The Zonda is terrible to drive!” Hamilton once said something about the automobile. “It’s the best-sounding car I own, but handling-wise it’s the worst.”
This might explain why Hamilton was engaged in a crash in Monte Carlo in 2015, resulting in damage that necessitated Pagani to repair…
Unfortunately, the car’s subsequent owner, millionaire Mark Radcliffe, wrecked it in a tunnel in Wales in August 2023, with dashcam video of the event surfacing – but happily, no one was wounded in the terrifying disaster.
Project One from Mercedes-AMG
Given that he drives for Mercedes’ factory Formula One team, it’s no wonder that Hamilton spent big bucks to get his hands on the Project One, the marque’s most spectacular vehicle.
Hamilton was engaged in the creation of the plug-in hybrid machine by testing prototypes due to his interest in sustainable fuels and powertrains.
The Project One has a peak speed of about 220mph, and the first units will be delivered in late 2022.
Only 275 Project Ones will be completed, each costing roughly £2 million. Hamilton purchased one for himself and one for his father, Anthony.
Former Mercedes colleague Nico Rosberg has already purchased one, while David Coulthard and Mark Wahlberg have joined Hamilton in acquiring one of the very uncommon machines.
Mercedes-AMG SLS Black (with a Mercedes Safety Car!)
Aside from the Project One, Hamilton also has a few other Mercedes models.
The AMG SLS Black is driven by a 6.2-liter V8 with 620bhp, reaching 100km/h in three seconds from a standstill.
He also owns a white Mercedes AMG GT R, which served as the Formula One Safety vehicle from 2018 to 2020 and is undoubtedly the most ‘average’ vehicle in Hamilton’s huge automotive collection.
Hamilton also has a Mercedes AMG G63 666, a competent and intimidating six-wheeled off-roading vehicle that cost the seven-time World Champion nearly half a million pounds.
Hamilton can also whip about in his Mercedes-Maybach S600, which features a silky smooth 6-litre V12 engine.
Ferrari Among others, LaFerrari
While Hamilton has been a Mercedes F1 driver for a decade, he is not immune to the allure of the ultimate childhood fantasy car – a red Ferrari.
While they may have been his on-track adversaries during his entire F1 career, Hamilton is believed to have owned at least three Ferraris.
A Ferrari LaFerrari, a Ferrari 599 SA Aperta, and a LaFerrari Aperta are among them.
The LaFerraris has a hybrid 6.3 liter engine that produces over 900bhp, and Hamilton is said to have spent roughly £2.2 million for the Aperta version, and another £1.4 million on the other.
The 599 was constructed in just 80 examples to commemorate Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary, making it an exceedingly rare automobile in Hamilton’s collection. Although less expensive than the LaFerrari Aperta, the price was still projected at £1.7 million.
1966 Shelby Cobra 427
While the majority of Hamilton’s collection is made up of cutting-edge technology from the world’s top supercar manufacturers, he has also splurged on some older machinery.
One of them is a legendary 1966 Shelby Cobra, which is thought to be valued over £4 million and is one of Hamilton’s most costly vehicles.
Located in Los Angeles, Hamilton was regularly spotted in the exotic automobile with ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger throughout their relationship.
However, the longer Hamilton keeps this automobile, the more it is sure to gain – Cobra prices are predicted to grow at auction, and with its one-of-a-kind ownership, Hamilton’s pension may be secured from this one machine!
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 1967
Another classic in Hamilton’s automobile collection is a near-identical duplicate of ‘Eleanor’ from the film ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ – Hamilton paid £1.1 million for a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Following the acquisition, Hamilton had his vehicle customized by an American tuner and bodyshop to bring it to its current excellent state.
P1 McLaren
Although the days of Lewis Hamilton being connected with McLaren are long gone, Hamilton has kept the brand dear to his heart.
Three years after leaving the McLaren F1 team that got him into Formula 1, Hamilton splurged on a P1 supercar in 2015.
It has a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with an electric motor that develops 903 horsepower and can reach a high speed of 217mph and 0-100 km/h in less than 2.7 seconds.
Hamilton paid roughly £1.2 million for the P1, the successor to the classic F1.
Lewis Hamilton has what other cars or vehicles?
While the vehicles listed above are machines that Hamilton is known to have had (or currently owns), it’s extremely possible that the seven-time World Champion has a number of additional machines stashed away for times he wants to maintain a low profile.
In addition to his four-wheeled vehicles, Hamilton has a Honda CRF450RX Motocross bike, which he is known to ride throughout the scenic parts of California, as well as an electric Maverick X3 dune buggy.
