After the last race of the 2023 season in Abu Dhabi, Charles Leclerc went out to celebrate with his girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux.
For the most of his time in the limelight as an F1 superstar, Charles Leclerc’s relationship status has been public knowledge. Charles Leclerc has been romantically connected with his longtime girlfriend Charlotte Sine until December 2022.
Despite deciding to stop the relationship, Leclerc remained uncommitted till the start of 2023. This changed during the Monaco Grand Prix, when Leclerc officially declared that he had started dating influencer and model Alexandra Saint Mleux.
Since then, the two have been dating and have appeared as a pair at a number of high-profile events. Their romance gained traction when the two enjoyed a beautiful moment in Brazil after the race.
Following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the two were seen partying at a nightclub in Yas Marina. The festivities will mark the start of the drivers’ four-month hiatus from Formula One, providing some respite from the year-round intensive preparation.
Alexandra Saint Mleux, a 21-year-old art student in Paris, has a sizable fan base on TikTok, with over 120 thousand followers. The Italian student was apparently pals with the sister of Leclerc’s ex-girlfriend Charlotte Sine, albeit the two have since parted up.
Charles Leclerc’s last-ditch efforts in Ferrari P2 bid
Charles Leclerc raced a frantic race at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday, hoping to steal P2 from Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship. The Monegasque driver finished second, followed by Sergio Perez in third and George Russell in fourth, with Lewis Hamilton in ninth.
Leclerc needed Russell to finish fourth and Hamilton to finish ninth to claim second position in the Championship. Perez received a five-second penalty for his previous erratic conduct with Lando Norris, which meant Russell would be moved to third and Ferrari would lose the duel. To avoid this, Leclerc allowed Perez through to enable the Mexican finish P3 and aid Ferrari. Leclerc, on the other hand, did not keep Russell back any longer than necessary, losing Perez P3 and Ferrari P2 in the standings.
Sergio Perez argued that Leclerc could have held Russell back to give the Mexican the lead, but Ferrari technical director Fred Vasseur disagreed. Vasseur suggested that maintaining a gap of just a few hundredths behind Russell would be challenging, but ensuring Perez would be between Leclerc and Russell after the penalty would be very difficult.
“You have also to be sure that Perez is in between you and Russell. If you want to block Russell, it’s a matter of hundreds of seconds. I’m not a big fan of this.We did our best in a fair way when we let Perez go, to give him the DRS, to try to help us, but too much would have been too much.”
However, Charles Leclerc finished second, propelling him up the standings to finish fifth, two spots ahead of his teammate and equal on points with Fernando Alonso. Leclerc dropped in the rankings from last year after being runner-up in 2022.
