Dallas Cowboys is connected with fаme. Another prime-time appearance will be Thursday when they host the Seattle Seahawks to open Week 13.
Seattle has lost to the divisional foe Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers in two weeks. At 6-5 and three games left against the NFC elite, postseason aspirations are fading, making Thursday’s game urgent.
However, the Dallas Cowboys want to keep the fun going. At 8-3, they’ve performed well against weaker opponents and are on their way to a playoff game—the only question is where.
Dak Prescott’s MVP campaign, though unfinished, has been on track since Week 6. He’s completing 70% of his throws and maintaining downfield potency, making Dallas one of the NFL’s most dynamic attacks.
On Thursday, Seahawks defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt knows his defense will strugglе.
“They’re definitely very dangerous,” Hurtt added. “Their talent and high-level execution cause many issues… San Francisco’s motions and other problems make their approach different. They both operate at high levels.”
Seattle’s defense has allowed at least 26 points in three of its last four games. Things aren’t getting easier on the road against one of the NFL’s hottest teams.
Unlocking Brandin Cooks has made the Cowboys more dynamic. He’s had 16 catches for 287 yards and two scores in the last three weeks, double his production from the first seven.
The Seahawks’ formidable secondary will be tested in Week 13. According to Thanksgiving, Hurtt’s defense is deteriorating. Their new defensive end, Leonard Williams, could help them overcome back-end issues.
The quarterback is performing well, so you have to find ways to disrupt him, Hurtt said. “Explosive players everywhere… They provide challenges. We must keep preparing and ready.”
If nothing else, Thursday should feature good quarterback play. Prescott is headed for a Week 14 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle quarterback Geno Smith is as deadly as last season despite a lackluster offense.
Expect fireworks before Dallas’ mini-bye when the Cowboys again give supporters a Sunday off.
