Selena Gomez was photographed Tuesday night on the set of her upcoming Hulu series Only Murders in the Building in New York City, where she was filming a scene with co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin in which Martin was loaded into the back of an ambulance.
Gomez, 28, wore a furry khaki coat with a black top, an orange checkered skirt, and dark tights for the shoot in Gotham. She wore her dark hair back and paired it with black and dark yellow booties.
Short, 71, matched Gomez in a khaki blazer, blue pants, and black sneakers, with his brown hair groomed.
Martin, 75, was being loaded into an ambulance while wearing a long-sleeved blue blouse and a matching pork pie hat.
He was tied onto a gurney, with brown-rimmed spectacles and a ventilation equipment linked to his face.
According to Hulu, the series followed ‘three strangers who share an interest with true crime and find themselves abruptly caught up in one.’
Gomez, who plays Mabel in the program, is also an executive producer. Her first regular role on television since her appearance on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
Martin collaborated with John Hoffman to create the 10-episode streaming series.
He told Vogue earlier this month that Gomez’s ‘performance is rich and adult,’ adding that’she’s learned to underplay when necessary.’
Martin told the magazine that Gomez’s ‘nicely, passionately low-key’ performance matches his and Short’s comedic stylings in previous films such as Three Amigos! and Father of the Bride.
‘Marty and I are a little manic, and she’s this strong, solid rock basis,’ he explained. ‘Marty and I are always making fun of each other, and we weren’t sure if she’d be up for it. But now we’re known as the Three Musketeers.’
Martin expressed his delight in having Gomez join the project.
‘You receive a list of names and you’re thinking, sure, they’d be good, they’d be good, and then they say, “What about Selena Gomez?”‘ he explained. ‘And it’s just – of course, yes.
‘The only question was, “Can we get her?” We felt she’d improve the show in a variety of ways, the most important of which was her talent.’
