The unique Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which is purported to be the most costly vehicle ever produced, is rumored to have been acquired by Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to reports, Ronaldo paid €11 million (£9.49 million) for the special Bugatti, which made its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
Only one prototype supercar was produced by the French luxury brand as a celebration of the company’s 110th anniversary of founding.
The vehicle is a contemporary reimagining of the fabled and iconic Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, of which four were produced between 1936 and 1938.
With its 8.0-liter turbocharged W16 engine, the vehicle has a top speed of 260 mph.
Although Bugatti has acknowledged that the unique model now has an owner, they have declined to provide their name.
Contrary to earlier rumours, Ferdinand Piech, the former head of the Volkswagen Group, is the new owner, according to Spanish sports daily Marca.
According to rumors, the owner won’t be able to operate the vehicle until 2021 since the corporation needs to finalize a few minor aspects on the prototype.
According to reports, Ronaldo owns a collection of high-end vehicles that includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes C Class Sport Coupe, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, Aston Martin DB9, McLaren MP4 12C, Bentley Continental GTC Speed, and a Ferrari 599 GTO.
