The Dallas Cowboys beаt the Seattle Seahawks 41–35 on Thursday night, thanks to three touchdowns from Dak Prescott. The win extended their home winning streak to 14 games.
With four and a half minutes left, Prescott’s 12-yard pass to Jake Ferguson put Dallas ahead. The Cowboys (9-3) avoided their first loss since losing to Philadelphia 28–23 at the beginning of November, setting up a rematch with their NFC East foes.
Geno Smith threw three touchdowns to DK Metcalf, one of which was 73 yards long. This helped the Seahawks (6-6) get their offense going again. It was Seattle’s third straight loss, and they fell to.500 for the first time since they tied their first two games of the season.
Brandon Aubrey of Dallas made four field goals, which set a new NFL record for the youngest player ever (28 years old) by making 26 straight field goals to start a career.
This is the fifth time in NFL history that neither team punted. But the third-ranked defense in the NFL came in and stopped the Seahawks on fourth down on their last three drives. The Cowboys kept their best home winning streak since 1979–1981 when they won 18 games at old Texas Stadium.
Dallas was down 35–30 when Zach Charbonnet was stopped on fourth-and-1 from the 46-yard line. After seven plays, Ferguson scored, and Prescott Һit Brandin Cooks for the extra point. In the second quarter, Cooks also caught a touchdown pass.
CeeDee Lamb had the other touchdown catch and 12 catches for 116 yards. He also ran for 24 yards on a jet sweep, which helped Aubrey make the game-winning field goal that put Dallas ahead by six points. Before that, Smith threw incomplete on fourth down near center with 3:11 left.
When the Seahawks got to midfield with 1:11 left, Micah Parsons put pressure on Smith on fourth down, making him throw the ball into the ground. This sealed the win for Dallas.
Metcalf had six catches for 134 yards, which was the most on the season. It was his second career three-TD game, and the Seahawks scored scores on five of their first seven drives after going 20 possessions without an оffensive touchdown.
Smith also scored on the ground and threw for 334 yards with one pick.
