Tyrese Gibson, an Atlanta-based singer and actor, has put his Woodland Hills, Calif., compound on the market for just under $2.9 m²ll²on, which is more than twice the $1.385 m¹ll²on he paid for it soon after it was built 11 years ago. The house is a plain, tan-colored Mediterranean-style home that most people would not notice or look at twice.
Online figures say that the singer of “Sweet Lady” and “How You Gonna Act Like That” has put out six albums and sold 3.7 million records since the late 1990s. Six “Fast & Furious” movies and three “Transformers” movies. The “Transformers” movies have done better for him. A version of “Spider-Man” called “Morbius” with Jared Leto and two more “Fast & Furious” movies will have him as the lead. He’s no longer just a singer; he’s also a movie star.
Gibson’s almost half-acre lot was first seen on Zillow Gone Wild and is now for sale through “Selling Sunset” star Jason Oppenheim of The Oppenheim Group. The property has four buildings, including the main house with five bedroom suites, including a master suite with two walk-in closets and a terrace, and 5.5 bathrooms.
The main house has some fancy features, like the double-height foyer and living room with its even fancier curved staircase and curlicued wrought-iron railings. But for the most part, it’s a typical high-end suburban home that can easily fit a big family.
Lots of white slipcovered furniture and a baby grand piano fill the huge living room. The fireplace is sleek and black.
There are brown microsuede chairs in the home theater, and the kitchen is big and high-end. It opens up to a dining room and family room.
The master bathroom and most of the other baths have medium-brown wood cabinets and beige tiles. But there is another party in the back of the house.
The fire pit is ruled by a big yellow Transformer. There is a circular built-in bench with red, white, and blue pillows that are meant to be patriotic. (A similar monument stood in the front yard and hall of Gibson’s Atlanta home.)
An Asian-style gazebo by the pool has an outdoor kitchen, a built-in grilling station and bar with cherry-red countertops, a half-bathroom, and a full Teppanyaki set-up in the style of Benihana that is hidden behind shoji screens.
