Selena Gomez has disclosed that throughout her relationship with Justin Bieber, she experienced “emotional abuse.”
The shocking revelation was made by the 27-year-old Wolves hitman on Sunday in an interview with NPR.
The former Disney actress admitted, “I do feel like I was a victim of certain abuse [during the relationship].”
Gomez answered in the yes when the interviewer questioned if she was alluding to “emotional abuse.”
Yes, and I believe that as an adult, I had to figure out how to make sense of it.
“I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible, even though I really don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this,” Selena came to an end.
When Selena confessed that her smash song Lose You To Love Me was about her sporadic relationship with Baby hitmaker Justin, the conversation initially shifted to him.
Gomez started, “I’m very proud of [the song].”
“I knew I needed a way to just say a few things that I wish I had said, but I felt like I didn’t get a respectful closure [in the relationship], and I had accepted that,” she continued.
“I had something beautiful and I would never deny that it wasn’t that,” the song says; it is not hateful.
It was really challenging, and I’m relieved that it’s gone.
From 2011 till 2018, Justin and Selena had intermittent relationships.
When Justin abruptly redirected his focus to Hailey Baldwin after their last breakup, it shocked many. He eventually married her in 2018.
In September 2019, Bieber shared a long and honest Instagram post that alluded to some of his problems.
He talked about how he used to “do pretty heavy drugs,” “abuse all of my relationships,” and treat women with disdain.
