Rick Ross Calls Purchase of $37 Million Mega-Mansion in Miami ‘a Major Piece to the Puzzle

A real estate frenzy has been brewing for Rick Ross.

A Miami estate worth $37 million was been added to the 47-year-old rapper’s already impressive portfolio. Star Island, a private island off Biscayne Bay that is guard-gated and home to several famous people, is where the waterfront mansion is situated.

His real estate agent, Kimberly Knausz of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, who worked with Ross’s sister Tawanda Roberts of Florida Realty of Miami, to broker the deal, stated that the new digs of the “Rich Is Gangsta” hitmaker sit on a 40,000-square-foot lot offering 100 feet of waterfront.

The main suite, which faces the bay, has two walk-in closets and its own bathroom; there are six other bedrooms and eight and a half baths in the 12,374 sq. ft. house. The kitchen is designed with the chef in mind. A heated pool, summer kitchen, 40-foot dock, and direct bay and ocean access are some of the outdoor features of this property.

“He fell in love with the grand entry — it has a very long driveway stretching towards the mansion that creates an air of real luxury,” recounts Knausz for PEOPLE. “He intends to improve it to reflect his personal style, and the architecture also played a role, as it’s far beyond the ordinary modern home.”

In April, Ross took to Instagram to announce the purchase of a property in Texas, posing in a cowboy hat and western boots. “I invite the great state of Texas to take a shot of @deaconwhisky to celebrate my newest home in the Lone Star State,” he wrote, and he signed it “Rodeo Rick.”

The same month, the singer of “Hustlin'” allegedly bought an estate in Atlanta. Additionally, he purchased the Southwest Ranches, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, house of former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire in March of 2021 with cash. He described the property to PEOPLE as a “sprawling estate in a very secluded area” when they interviewed him recently. “From the moment I stepped inside, I appreciated the high ceilings and rich detail.”

The artist also has a home in Fayetteville, Georgia, a 109-room house that spans 45,000 square feet and is affectionately known as “The Promise Land.” In the 2021 film Coming 2 America, the mansion—which occupies 235 acres—was reportedly utilized as a stand-in for the house of Prince Akeem Joffer (Eddie Murphy).
