Dak Prescott received Walter Payton Man of the Year earlier this year. Given his popularity in the final month of the season, he could like to win the NFL MVP title in a few months.
Prescott was named one of eight Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award finalists on Thursday.
Prescott is the Cowboys’ nominee for sportsmanship on the field. The award was established in 2014 to honor Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr., a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
“I didn’t know I was nominated for it until one of the coaches mentioned it today,” he remarked. “Just being nominated is cool. Recognition for your sportsmanship and approach to the game is always humbling.”
Prescott, Jets LB C.J. Mosley, Cardinals safety Budda Baker, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, Ravens guard Kevin Zeitler, Chargers DE Khalil Mack, and Raiders DE Maxx Crosby are the other contenders.
On Feb. 8, “NFL Honors” will unveil the winner, who will be voted on by NFL players. NFL MVP and other individual honors will be announced then.
