Odell Beckham Jr. has made quite a few highlight-reel plays throughout his lengthy NFL career and has been compensated handsomely by a variety of teams for his services.
The wide receiver’s net worth and 2023 salary are certainly nothing to sneeze at, either.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s Net Worth
Beckham has raked in plenty of cash during his NFL career, particularly after becoming the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver in 2018 when he signed a five-year, $95 million contract with the New York Giants. The deal came after a stellar first three seasons of his career had tailed off a tad due to an injury derailing in 2017.
Beckham also signed a lucrative shoe deal with Nike in 2017 that has contributed to his net worth.
The Giants, who had drafted Beckham with a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, then dealt him to the Cleveland Browns just seven months after signing the contract with him. OBJ earned plenty of that contract money despite eventually agreeing to a settlement for his release from the Browns after an up-and-down partnership.
Beckham then signed with the Los Angeles Rams and never fully took off with the franchise before an injury sidelined him for all of the 2022 season. He then returned to the field after signing a lucrative contract with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.
Estimates vary on Beckham’s actual net worth with Forbes estimating it to be $26.5 million back in 2019, while other sites place the figure in the $40 million range or higher.
OBJ’s Salary for 2023 Season
Beckham’s one-year, $18 million contract with the Ravens is currently fully guaranteed for $15 million, with the remaining $3 million coming from potential incentives.
According to ESPN, even the $15 million base salary is more than that of established NFL wide receivers Mike Evans, DK Metcalf, and A.J. Brown.
This contract also marks the biggest one-year compensation to a wide receiver in Baltimore’s history, surpassing Anquan Boldin’s 2010 earnings of $10 million by $5 million.
At the time of the deal, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta stated, “This was the guy that we felt could help take us to the next level.” “I have to admit, after sitting across from Odell for two minutes [during the annual league meeting] in Arizona, I was completely convinced that this was the right guy for the team.”
Although Beckham’s productivity this season has been much below his career-best level, the move has so far yielded mixed effects.
In 11 appearances, including five starts, he has 31 catches for 505 yards and three touchdowns on 57 targets. After outstanding tight end Mark Andrews and rookie wonder Zay Flowers, he is now the third-leading receiver for the Ravens on the season.
Beckham will have an opportunity to increase those totals when the Baltimore Ravens play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football.
