Celebrated Nigerian Afro-pop singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made headlines with his extravagant birthday gift—a 2023 model of the limited-production Maybach S-Class S680 V12. Just days after concluding his Timeless concert in Lagos, Davido reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the luxurious Maybach, showcasing his penchant for opulence and style.
The Maybach S680 V12, part of the Maybach brand revived by Mercedes-Benz, pays homage to the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, known for collaborations on special Maybach models. The car is an epitome of luxury, boasting a powerful 6.0-liter V12 engine, producing 621 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
Davido’s Maybach S680 V12 features an elegant and imposing exterior design, with a chrome-finished grille, sleek LED headlights, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior is a masterpiece of luxury and technology, offering spacious seating, fine leather upholstery, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The dashboard hosts large high-resolution screens, a 12.8-inch digital instrument panel, and a 12.3-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system.

Davido’s purchase is notably the first of the 150 Maybach S680 V12 units to be made worldwide. While the 2023 Maybach S-Class S680 V12 has an MSRP range of $193,400 to $229,000, Davido’s customized copy reportedly cost him $600,000. The additional expenses likely stem from personalized paint and interior trim options, emphasizing the singer’s desire for a uniquely exclusive vehicle.
