Is she requesting that she slow down?
Selena Gomez is concerned that her BFF Taylor Swift is “moving too fast” with Travis Kelce, according to a source who spoke exclusively to Page Six.
“Selena thinks Taylor going to games and galavanting through New York immediately after just meeting Travis is something that is very unlike her,” a person close to the matter said.
“Historically, Taylor’s always been super private about everything, and now with this [relationship], she’s so open about it that it’s just very odd for Selena.”
Swift’s most recent long-term romance was with Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for six years before to Kelce.
The two were thought to be “strangely private” since they were seldom photographed together.
Gomez, 31, is said to have seen how Swift, 33, has handled her new affair with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, and has found certain elements “alarming.”
Page Six reached out to Gomez’s rep for comment but did not get a response.
A source subsequently told Entertainment Tonight that the former Disney star “believes this is the real deal for Taylor.” She is a great fan of her and Travis.”
According to the source, Gomez notices “how respectful Travis is of Taylor and that he treats her like a queen.”
According to our source, Gomez declined invites to a couple Chiefs games because she didn’t want to be a part of the “media frenzy.”
However, according to the source, Gomez and Swift are “not in a fight” over the former’s ideas, as proven by their recent sushi dinner in West Hollywood, Calif., earlier this month.
“It wasn’t malicious, and it’s not that she doesn’t like them together.” She’s just worried about how it’s being handled.”
According to the source, Gomez is not the only pal who is concerned.
“That’s why the people she normally has these amazing relationships with weren’t [at Swift’s girls’ night out with Blake Lively, Brittany Mahomes and Sophie Turner],” the insider goes on to say.
Swift and Kelce did not respond to Page Six’s calls for comment right away.
The “Same Old Love” singer is reportedly not the only one in Traylor’s tight circle who is looking for the lovebirds.
Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother, told NBC Sports last week that he is concerned about his younger sibling’s new “level of stardom.”
“On the one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about [and] that he is genuine about,” the Philadelphia Eagles star told the site. “But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.'”
Swift and Travis have apparently been dating since early September and are “falling in love.”
“She is trying to keep it together, but she is obviously falling in love with him, and he feels the same way,” a source told the Daily Mail on October 19.
“Travis is a gentleman and, although it is maybe too soon to say, everyone really feels like she has finally met her match.”
