On Sunday night, the Denver Broncos were spoiled by New England kicker Chad Ryland and quarterback Bailey Zappe.
The Broncos needed a victory to remain in the AFC playoff picture. Prior to Week 15, the squad was in a decent position, but a humiliating defeat to the Detroit Lions reduced Denver to 7-7.
The slide continued as Zappe led a final-minute drive that set up Ryland’s 56-yard field goal with two seconds remaining, giving New England a surprising 26-23 win.

Belichick appeared to want to run out the clock for overtime. Sean Payton wasn’t having it, as he has burned two timeouts. That set up a big-time 27-yard reception from DeVante Parker. Pats in Denver territory.

And with all that goodwill and momentum on its side, Denver goes a quick three-and-out. Bailey Zapp has less than a minute to get that W and make some draftniks angry.
