For the third year in a row, RaceFans readers chose Max Verstappen as Driver of the Year.
More than half of our readers chose the Red Bull driver, who won the world championship for the third time this season.
Verstappen broke records while extending his term as Formula One world champion. In addition to winning 19 Grands Prix in a single season and gaining more than twice as many points as his nearest challenger, he became the first driver in world championship history to win 10 consecutive races.
Winners of the RaceFans 2023 F1 Driver of the Weekend
During the 2023 season, two drivers received the vast majority of votes in our post-race polls. Verstappen and Fernando Alonso were both named Driver of the Weekend four times.
Only two other drivers achieved it multiple times. In the midst of the season, Lando Norris led the poll for three rounds in a row.
Carlos Sainz Jr. won the vote twice, and his Singapore Grand Prix victory – Red Bull’s only defeat of the season – earned him the most emphatic win in our poll of the season, with more than three-quarters of readers voting him Driver of the Weekend.
