9. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was bought by Tom Cruise when he was not a mega star. The red Chevelle SS also featured in his movie Jack Reacher. The car cost him around $32,000 and he flaunted it on several occasions. The SS package came with a 396 ci engine (6.48-liter V8) producing 370 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The Mercedes-Benz CLK 200 (W209) was a desirable car that featured in Mission Impossible III and Tom Cruise owned one. Available in 2-door coupe and convertible versions, the W209 was introduced to replace W202. For a price of $53,000, the CLK 200 offered just 163 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, from its 1.8-liter inline-four engine. The engine was mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and RWD was standard. The 0-62 mph sprint took just 9.3 seconds and the top speed was limited to 143 mph.
The Mercedes CLK 200 was not a very powerful car but it surely offered better handling and road manners than some of its competitors. Most of these cars in the world are mostly collected for their value and exclusivity. It was manufactured between 2002 and 2005 only, making it a collectors item for many Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The 2010 Ford Mustang Saleen is the perfect example of an all-American muscle car. The engine was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and RWD was standard. Capable of doing 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, surely not for the faint-hearted.

Surely, Cruise is a man of his words and bought a 1996 Porsche Carerra 993, the last of air-cooled Carreras. The 993 series was an improvement over its predecessor, boasting better handling and styling. Powered by a 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, this Porsche coupe offered 272 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque.
The dynamic coupe was capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 5.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 171 mph with ease. The 993 is a modern classic that’s always on collectors’ radar.
