With two weeks remaining in the season, the Dallas Cowboys are facing their toughest challenges of 2023.
Following back-to-back road defeats in two games that gave players confidence in competing against playoff-caliber teams on the road, dissatisfaction has permeated the locker room as players and coaches try to fix what can be fixed in two weeks.
Dak Prescott is frustrated, but he thinks the ship can be righted in time for a long playoff run.
“PisseԀ, for sure,” Dak Prescott said. “But resilient and aware of the closeness. Left us. But it’s simply about everyone being responsible, looking in the mirror, and asking what they can do. If we commit to it collectively, we’ll improve and overcome this. No doubt.”
Prescott and the offense struggled in the second and third quarters until the last оffensive possession. That effort gave them a momentary lead, but it was insufficient.
“I’d have to go back and take you through each play for the most part and even on good plays, there’s things that I felt like I could do better,” said Prescott. “I assess quarterbacks by wins and losses. If it’s a loss, I could’ve done more—trying to make a play, get out of trouble, etc. That’s how I’ll analyze my game.”
The Star has spent the abbreviated week reflecting about its Saturday night game against the Detroit Lions, another chance to beаt a good team. The Cowboys have two games they should win, so they can establish consistency after two weeks of inconsistency.
“We credit the schedule that we have here, but in the same sense, we’ve got to do more,” stated. That’s self-reflection and accountability. Two more weeks are promised, and we know where we want to go. We must sacrifice thereafter. We must sacrifice now and play with our backs against the wall to prepare.”
