On Saturday night, the Cowboys trailed the Detroit Lions 3-0 with 3:40 left in the first quarter. QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys needed 13 yards on third down at their eight-yard line to continue the drive. The Cowboys seemed to be down 5-0 after snapping the ball because Lions LB Derrick Barnes had a clean chance at sacking Prescott for a safety. Barnes missed the tackle, enabling Prescott to roll out and prolong the play. Prescott sent a bоmb downfield off his back foot to WR CeeDee Lamb, who scorched the Lions coverage and scored a 92-yard touchdown to take the lead. Prescott threw the longest touchdown pass of his career and the third-longest Dallas Cowboys play.
Cowboys fell down three again later. The Lions led 13-10 in the fourth quarter and threatened the Cowboys’ 15-game home winning run. Prescott had different ideas as he drove the Cowboys down the field with beautiful passes. He ended the drive with a stunning touchdown throw to Brandin Cooks to take the lead.
After a tҺrilling conclusion, the Cowboys won 20-19. Prescott completed 26/38 for 345 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Tonight was about WR CeeDee Lamb, who set a team record for single-season catches and yards. However, Prescott’s ability to make huge passes throughout the night helped the Cowboys extend their AT&T Stadium winning record to 16 games. The Cowboys play their last game at Washingtоn next week to try to finish 12-5 for the third consecutive year.
More significantly, the Cowboys will face the Commanders for the NFC East in Week 18 since the Eagles lost to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. A Dallas victory means the NFC East title, the #2 seed, and at least one playoff game at home.
