Red Bull Shifts Focus to 2025 Car Amid Dominance in Formula 1
As Red Bull Racing prepares to defend its Formula 1 title in the upcoming season, the team has surprised many by indicating that they have already shifted their focus to the 2025 car, likely to be named the RB21. Ben Waterhouse, a performance engineer for Red Bull, mentioned that their RB20 for the 2024:
“The RB20 is a car that is at least six months old,” he said in quotes reported by Formula Passion.
This revelation comes after Red Bull’s remarkable and record-breaking 2023 season, during which team principal Christian Horner had previously disclosed that the team had already turned their attention to the 2024 season. Despite their impressive performance, Red Bull faced increasing competition towards the end of the 2023 season, notably from McLaren.
Waterhouse’s statement sheds light on the team’s continuous commitment to staying ahead in Formula 1, emphasizing that the RB21 is already in their sights, even before the commencement of the 2024 season.
“And we are already starting to move our attention on the RB21, even if the season has not yet started.”
Red Bull aims to build on the success of their RB19, which Horner described as “the most successful car in F1 history,” and maintain a substantial lead over rivals like McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari.
