On Thursday, Angelina Jolie looked chic as she left her house with her daughter Vivienne to go to her new studio in New York City.
The 48-year-old actress, director, and philanthropist looked very stylish as she left her New York City hotel wearing a black midi dress with a cutout.
Her fifteen-year-old daughter, dressed in taupe wide-leg pants and a purple T-shirt, accompanied Angelina.
After agreeing to an eight-year lease, the two were seen leaving Jean-Michel Basquiat’s last New York Apartment and Studio in Soho.
Following the announcement earlier this month that she had joined the Broadway production of the musical The Outsiders as a principal producer, Angelina has been photographed in New York many times in recent days.
The brunette beauty’s toned and tattooed arms were accentuated by the short-sleeved garment, which she wore without a bra.
Thanks to stylish cuts showcasing her back and sides, she showed off some skin.
With a side split and beautiful blonde highlights flowing down her shoulders, Angelina’s hair framed her stylish black spectacles.
She stood tall in pointed black heels and held a quilted black purse and black jacket on her arm.
The actor, director, and writer of By The Sea finished off her ensemble with tiny diamond earrings set in a gold frame.
Although Angelina seemed to be leaving alone, she was seen earlier this month with her kids, including 15-year-old daughter Vivienne and 19-year-old son Pax.
She was seen arriving at JFK Airport earlier this week with only the two children flanking her, so it’s unclear whether her other children will be traveling to New York City with her.
Following reports that Jolie had recruited her daughter to work as an assistant on The Outsiders, there was a glimpse of Jolie and Vivienne on Wednesday.
The film was met with mixed reviews from reviewers at the time, but more positive reviews have been received since. It is regarded as a foundational work in the canon of the ‘Brat Pack,’ a group of teenage actors who often acted in coming-of-age movies in the 1980s and some of them went on to become big stars.
When The Outsiders debuted in 1983, it had a who’s who of soon-to-be A-list actors. Diane Lane, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, and even Tom Cruise, who played a tiny part, were among the ensemble cast members.
An insider told ET that after witnessing the musical, which had its West Coast debut at the La Jolla Playhouse earlier this year, Angelina and Vivienne “both fell in love” with it.
The source said, “After that, Vivienne and Angelina met with S.E. Hinton, who was roughly Vivienne’s age when she wrote the novel.”
“After seeing the show and speaking with S.E. Hinton, Angelina felt motivated to take on a lead producer role for the upcoming Broadway launch.”
The Broadway version’s cast and release date have not yet been revealed.
Angelina said in a statement earlier this month, “I hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse.”
“I am so thrilled that this musical is making its Broadway debut! I can’t wait to share this new The Outsiders adaptation with everyone.”
