Carlos Sainz has responded to Ferrari’s decision to replace him with Sir Lewis Hamilton, expressing that he is not disappointed by the outcome and remains confident about his future in Formula One.
Despite the surprising news of Hamilton’s signing with Ferrari and Sainz’s impending departure, the Spanish driver maintains his focus on the current season with Ferrari. He acknowledges the changes ahead but is committed to giving his best for the team and their fans around the world.
While it may not be the ideal situation to begin the season with, Sainz emphasizes his determination to perform at his highest level and aims to achieve success in his final year with Ferrari.
Looking ahead, Sainz remains calm and optimistic about his future in Formula One. With his talent and track record, he is expected to be in demand by other teams. Audi, set to enter F1 in 2026, has been mentioned as a potential destination for Sainz.
Additionally, with a vacancy at Mercedes following Hamilton’s departure, Sainz could be considered as a candidate for that seat, although he faces competition from other drivers.
‘I am calm, we are already working on the future, but we know that we have a very important season ahead of us. This will be my last year at Ferrari, so I want to do the best I can.
‘For sure it’s not the best feeling to start the season with, but the moment I put on my helmet in Bahrain and take to the track, the only feeling I’ll have is the will to go harder and harder, aiming also for the World Championship victory.’
Sainz reflects on his career progression and expresses confidence in his ability to continue improving and achieving success in Formula One. Despite the changes ahead, he remains focused on the present season and is determined to make the most of his opportunities on the track.
