The helmet design competition for the 2024 F1 season, spearheaded by Lewis Hamilton and sponsored by Ineos Hygienics, offers young artists aged 11-18 a chance to showcase their creativity. Divided into three age categories, participants are invited to submit their designs along with an explanation of their inspiration before the February 28 deadline.
The winning designs will be photographed with Hamilton at an F1 event in 2024, and the winners will receive a VIP tour of the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team factory. Hamilton sees this as an opportunity for young people to express themselves creatively and build confidence, urging them to embrace mistakes and believe in their abilities.
The competition, initiated by Ineos Hygienics as part of its Ineos Go Humans Academy initiative, aims to provide a platform for young creatives to display their talents. With Formula One’s growing popularity among younger audiences, the competition seeks to engage the next generation of designers and potentially discover future talents in the sport.
Submissions will be reviewed by staff at Ineos and Mercedes F1 team members, with a final shortlist judged by an elite panel including representatives from Ineos and Mercedes F1 design experts. Although Hamilton himself won’t be a judge, he is eagerly anticipating the designs and looks forward to seeing the creativity of the participants.
