Billionaire Mark Radcliffe Crashes Lewis Hamilton’s Custom Pagani Zonda
In a costly mishap that has left automotive enthusiasts in awe, billionaire Mark Radcliffe reportedly took a sharp turn for the worse while behind the wheel of Lewis Hamilton’s prized Pagani Zonda 760 LH.
Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One champion, parted ways with the bespoke vehicle in 2015, only for it to meet an untimely fate in the hands of its new owner just two years later in Wales.
Reports indicate that Radcliffe lost control of the V12-powered marvel, careening into the wall at the Penmaenbach Tunnel in Conwy. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained, but the same cannot be said for the Zonda, which now bears the scars of the incident, evident in the extensive bodywork and suspension damage.
According to the Daily Mail, Radcliffe, a British billionaire reputed to have forked out a staggering €10 million for the Zonda, was the unfortunate driver at the time of the crash.
Despite the setback, Radcliffe is no stranger to the world of high-performance vehicles, boasting a decorated racing career in the UK, with notable successes in the British GT championships, clinching victory on four occasions.
An eyewitness described the scene as “dramatic,” recounting the spine-chilling moment of impact. “The crash was so dramatic. He hit one wall and spun round 360 degrees before bouncing off the other. There was an enormous bang and sparks everywhere,” the witness stated.
Radcliffe, aged 44, has amassed his fortune primarily through his ownership of Victorian Plumbing, where he maintains a majority stake. Despite the harrowing nature of the crash, Radcliffe emerged unscathed, albeit understandably concerned about the damage incurred by the iconic vehicle.
Reflecting on the ordeal, another source remarked, “He’s very lucky to escape in one piece after a crash like that,” highlighting the severity of the incident and the stroke of fortune that spared Radcliffe any serious harm.
