Following her remarks about spending the previous two years in a “dark and difficult place” following her divorce from Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie made an appearance in Paris on Sunday.
The 44-year-old actress, who parted ways with the 55-year-old Brad in September 2016, hadn’t been on screen in four years when she went back to film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
It took Angelina some time to ‘feel the strength’ of the black fairy again, she said.
The actress, who is married to Brad and has four children—Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and the twins, Vivienne and Knox, 11—said that her kids’ encouragement got her through a difficult time in her life.
“I have had ups and downs over the past few years, and I haven’t felt very strong, so there’s something where you push yourself when you are not feeling very strong,” she said to The Sun.
“We all have our difficult times; it’s very similar to my character in the movie,” Angelina went on. “My strength comes from my children; I didn’t work because they needed me at home.”As any parent knows, when all you have to do is pull your children through whatever, your own strength rises because you have to endure everything in order to be strong enough for them.
Angelina stated that her kids prefer to live reasonably normal lives and that fame is not essential to them.
After ten years together, Angelina and Brad were married in August 2014; however, in September 2016, Angelina filed for divorce.
Upon finalizing their divorce, a judge granted them both the status of a legally single person.
The ex-couples are currently dividing up assets and money, with a focus on who will get Miraval, their French winery and the location of their wedding. They have also decided on child custody.
The Blast claims that Brad asked the court to name a private judge so that their talks could go on, and the celebrity granted the request.
The LA County Court granted their request, provided that the couple covered the cost of the judge’s time. Accordingly, an agreement was made to “Extend Appointment of Privately Compensated Temporary Judge.”
