The Boss made a stop in his childhood hometown.
Last week, the rapper and record executive Rick Ross gave back to the small Mississippi community he grew up in by providing enough Thanksgiving food for about 300 people.
The City of Clarksdale City posted about the rapper’s visit the day before Thanksgiving on its Facebook page.
People from the city said that the visit was also to remember his grandparents, Tommie Jr. and Rosie Lee Fields.
“The patriarchs and matriarchs of the community” before they died in 2011 and 2019, the city said of the grandparents who lived on Barnes Street in Clarksdale. Along with Rosie Lee, Tommie Jr. ran several businesses in town. To show her love, Rosie Lee “cooked for the whole community.”
Ross, who goes by the nаme “The Boss” and had a Һit song with that nаme, ordered the food from Turkey Leg Hut in Houston, the city said. As the town celebrated, parts of Barnes Street were cut off.
He said, “It’s a wonderful experience when I come back here,” as shown on the Facebook post. Of course, I can’t help but remember all the wonderful times I had with my grandmother and grandfather. We’re all family out here. “Love, you better believe it.”
