Rihanna has made The Century, one of the most expensive and priciest residential towers in Los Angeles, her permanent residence since 2014. Her three-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot residence feels slightly overwhelming due to the presence of staff, a second child, a newborn, and an omnipresent entourage.
Nick Molnar, a billionaire and co-founder of Afterpay, a digital company, sold the property after initially requesting $28 million. However, because the purchаse was completed on March 31, just one day before the new tax went into effect, Rihanna likely leveraged L.A.’s mansion tax to negotiate a sizable decrease. If the purchаse had been finalized in April, Molnar would have owed an additional $1.1 million in taxes.
Upon disembarking the private elevator and entering the entrance gallery of the condominium, guests are immediately mesmerized by the curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that illuminates the living area and provides breathtaking views of the metropolitan skyline. The dining room’s dark brown hardwood floors continue into the white kitchen, which features two islands, marble countertops, and high-quality appliances.
In addition to a soundproof movie theater furnished with velour sofas, the residence sports a master suite featuring a curved bedroom, two custom closets, and two bathrooms. Furthermore, there is a separate lounge within the premises. Four distinct outdoor terraces that face north, south, east, and west offer expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, Downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers, the San Gabriel Mountains, and even the snow-capped Mount Baldy. These terraces are arguably the most striking feature of the condominium.
Rihanna pays a $8,814 monthly HOA fee that grants her access to the building’s finest amenities, including four deeded parking spaces in the garage, a security staff, access to an outdoor pool and verdant gardens, on-site storage, a restaurant, and conference rooms, among many others.
