You could be forgiven for believing that the stars of the Academy Awards on Sunday expended all of their big watch energy, but this week at least seven of them displayed BWE in public.
To put it another way, during a picture call in London on Thursday, three stars from Doug Liman’s Road House remake flaunted some eye-catching wrist candy. Billy Magnussen wore an Omega Seamaster Diver 007 Edition, Jake Gyllenhaal flashed a chic Cartier Santos, and Connor McGregor flaunted a flashy Rolex Day-Date.
Nearer home, Kevin Pollak wore an incredibly cool Franck Muller at the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire premiere in New York City, Lenny Kravitz wore a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso to get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fаme, and Ewan McGregor wore a Rolex Submariner on The Tonight Show.
Perhaps the most BWE was displayed by Rick Ross, who performed at a Miami nightclub while wearing an iced-out Audemars Piguet Royal Oak around his wrist.

Rick Ross: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Rick Ross is far from done flaunting his multimillion-dollar watch collection. The rapper flaunted an Audemars Piguet watch covered in diamonds this week while attending a Miami nightclub. The 41 mm Royal Oak is encrusted with (aftermarket) white stones and is crafted from 18-karat white gold. Usually customized after being bought from an authorized dealer, this kind of opulent wrist candy can fetch six figures on the secondary market. If you’re interested, the watch and jewelry retailer Luxury NYC is selling one comparable for $125,000.
Lenny Kravitz: Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph
This week, Lenny Kravitz was bestowed with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fаme, appropriately adorned with a stunning Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatch. In 2018, Jake Gyllenhaal became the first watch ambassador for Cartier. The actor and the Parisian jeweler’s romance is still going strong after six years. The American actor attended the Road House photo call in London on Thursday sporting a chic gold Cartier Santos. (Gyllenhaal reprises his 1989 legendary role as Swayze.) It seems that the actor prefers the Santos Cartier. In fact, last year when eating chicken wings on Hоt Ones, he killed a different kind of two-tone reference.
Billy Magnussen: Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition
Even if Billy Magnussen isn’t as well-known as Connor McGregor or Jake Gyllenhaal, he nonetheless exudes the same charisma. The 38-year-old actor showed up for the Road House photo call in London on Thursday sporting a sturdy Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition. Daniel Craig and the James Bond film crew collaborated closely with the Swiss watchmaker throughout the creation of the Bond watch. The watch has an aluminum bezel ring, a “tropical” brown aluminum dial, and a robust but lightweight 42 mm titanium case. It may be outfitted with a Nato strap ($8,100) or a titanium mesh bracelet ($9,200), but Magnussen chose the mesh for extra durability.
Ewan McGregor: Rolex Submariner
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ewan McGregor maintained a sophisticated and traditional vibe. For the Monday program, the 52-year-old Scottish actor wore a dapper pinstripe suit and a subdued Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner. The watch has an Oyster band, a black dial with huge luminous hour markers, a Cerachrom bezel with a black ceramic insert, and an Oystersteel 41 mm case. At approximately $9,100, Ref. 124060 is not only one of the most affordable models of the crown, but also one of its most well-liked. Obtaining one can be a another story.
Kevin Pollak: Franck Muller Long Island
Character actor Kevin Pollak showed up at the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire premiere in New York on Thursday night sporting a really bizarre Franck Muller watch. The Long Island’s drаmаtic arching numerals and long, rectangular case pay homage to the Art Deco movement. Although the watch has been made available in a variety of materials over the years, Pollak’s seems to have a brown strap, a champagne dial, and a silver case. Although the Swiss watchmaker’s website doesn’t have the specific reference, there are many others (like the one in the photo, for example).
Connor McGregor: Rolex Day-Date
Unbelievably, Connor McGregor was sporting one of his more understated watches to the Road House picture call in London. The former UFC champion turned actor chose a more somber Rolex over his flashy Jacob & Co. wrist candy and expensive Patek Philippe watches. This specific Day-Date has an attractive fluted bezel, a fashionable champagne dial with baton markers, an elegant 36 mm case made of 18-carat yellow gold, and the recognizable President bracelet. Alright, so the $35,000 watch isn’t totally subtle.
