Angelina Jolie is no stranger to red carpet appearances, but Monday night was especially memorable for her.
The 39-year-old beauty was accompanied by husband Brad Pitt in Australia for the international premiere of Unbroken, a new WWII film she directed.
It’s the couple’s first red carpet appearance since marrying in August.
She looked stunning in a strapless, fishtailed Gucci gown as she welcomed thousands of fans who lined the streets around Sydney’s State Theatre before strutting her stuff on the red carpet.
Angelina and Brad, 50, arrived in a black Range Rover to greet fans and pose for selfies before walking the red carpet for the film, which was primarily shot in New South Wales.
The statuesque brunette wore a floor-length, strapless silver gown with black accents and a fishtail finish.
She wore diamond earrings and thousands of fans flocked to witness the Hollywood dame, whose hair was curled up into a chignon and her skin looked as radiant as ever.
Her trademark smileOne admirer gave Angelina a stuffed koala toy, while another attempted to jump over the rails.
While she paused to speak with the media, her husband worked the throng, greeting each fan individually.
Brad looked sharp in a black suit and tie with a fresh white shirt.
The World War Z actor wore sunglasses and slicked back his hair, appearing beautiful with well-kept facial hair. Angelina discussed her marriage with Brad with Daily Mail Australia at the occasion, stating that ‘we just feel that much closer.’
‘It makes us happy to be married,’ she remarked, before conceding, “I don’t think we needed it, but it just feels like he’s my husband.”
The couple married in August after two years of engagement, which followed a seven-year relationship.
The Maleficent actress does not star in the film; rather, she directs it. Unbroken is adapted from Laura Hilenbrand’s 2010 novel Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption.
It tells the true story of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who was imprisoned by Japanese soldiers during World War II.
Angelina also expressed her excitement for her six children, Maddox (13), Pax (10), Zahara (9), Shiloh (8), Knox (6), and Vivienne (6), to see the film.
‘Shiloh attended his funeral, and [he’s] really emotionally attached to him, so she wants to see it most of all,’ Angelina explained.
‘They’re all extremely emotional about the story, and I’m excited for them to see it because I believe it’s incredibly beneficial for children and has positive lessons.
