On Thursday, Angelina Jolie was spotted virtually unrecognizable on the Paris set of her upcoming film.
The 48-year-old actress, who is playing renowned opera singer Maria Callas in the biopic, eschewed her typical glitzy attire in favor of an outfit inspired by classic tweed.
Wearing a greying wig wrapped in a bun, Angelina also wore large, wide-brimmed spectacles.
She wore a short brown overcoat and a dark suit in moments where her character was walking her dogs outside.
The Oscar winner accessorized with a silk scarf, leather gloves, an antique handbag, and knee-high boots.
Angelina looked really stylish earlier in the day as she left her hotel and made her way to the set in a black midi dress.
She wore useful ballet flats and sunglasses to protect her eyes as she ventured out in the French metropolis.
With her hair styled straight, Angelina wore a beige trench coat over her huge Celine handbag.
Earlier this week, when the first look photos for the movie Maria were revealed, Angelina looked very different from her typical Hollywood demeanor.
For the film, which will trace the turbulent life and legacy of famed opera singer Maria Callas, the actress underwent physical transformation.
In an early peek at her role as Maria, Angelina doesn’t apply makeup and sports a big pullover and large brown rimmed eyeglasses while filming is underway.
The Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress is considerably more glam in another picture with winged eyeliner and a coat with luxurious fur trimmings.
During the movie, Angelina had the good fortune to don several of Callas’ actual wardrobe pieces, such as antique fur pieces from Massimo Cantini Parrini’s archive.
Maria died in 1977. She was one of the most well-known and significant opera singers of the 20th century.
The performer was well-known for both her extraordinary range on stage and her stormy personal history, which included a relationship with Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, who later married Jackie Kennedy.
“I take the responsibility for Maria’s life and legacy very seriously,” Angelina had earlier declared in a statement. “I’ll do everything in my power to rise to the occasion.”
The Tomb Raider actress also named Pablo Larraín, the movie’s director, whom she claimed to have “long admired.”

“To be allowed the chance to tell more of Maria’s story with him, and with a script by Steven Knight, is a dream,” the mother of six continued.
Callas – Paris, 1958, a restored recording of one of Maria Callas’ greatest-ever filmed performances, will also be released as part of this year’s Callas centennial celebrations.
Fans can now witness the footage in vibrant, lifelike color for the first time thanks to the restored recording.
If anyone is interested in learning more about the woman Angelina Jolie will be portraying, this movie is the ideal place to start.
