Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s years-long divorce bаttle is finally drawing to a close. The actor, born in 1963, has chosen to abandon his pursuit of joint custody of their children, leading to this resolution.
On March 28th, the Daily Mail quoted a separate source, indicating that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in negotiations and progressively approaching the conclusion of their legal dispute, which has extended from 2016 until the present. The final resolution is anticipated to be reached this summer.
Initially, Angelina sought full custody, while Brad fought for a 50/50 arrangement concerning their six children. However, according to insiders, the actor born in 1963 is no longer pursuing this matter. Consequently, the 49-year-old actress will maintain primary custody of the children, with her ex-husband granted visitation rights.
The factor that led to that decision was that most of their children were adults. Maddox (23 years old), Pax Thien (21 years old) and Zahara (19 years old) are not bound by any custody agreement. Currently, only Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne are under 18 years old. However, Shiloh soon surpassed that milestone in May.
Furthermore, Brad’s source characterized the relationship between the Oscar winner and his children as “distant.” Among the three eldest children, Pax Thien appears to harbor the most hostility towards his father.
Earlier, an acquaintance of Brad Pitt asserted that the extended divorce proceedings were part of Angelina Jolie’s strategy to maintain custody of her children and shield them from her ex-husband’s influence during their formative years. The acquaintance suggested that Jolie intends to drop the legal proceedings once the children reach adulthood.
The actress’s friends immediately rejected the above inference: “Brad has no one to blame but himself. All Angelina wants is to heal the family’s wounds and move on.”
